Closed - yup, I am closed

I’m open 9am to 9pm.

I close at 9pm.

I lower one shutter at 8:50ish pm. I lower the other at 9pm

I lock the door. I hang the “No Pharmacist on Duty” sign I had made at 9pm.

Why, why, why, why, why, why does someone want a script filled at 9:02pm every
night?

Why is that script always dated no less than 3 days ago?

Why can people not understand that for 12 hours I am at their beck-and-call (yet
they want 12 hours and 15 minutes)?

Why does that person always say, “Ohh are you closed?” when the shutters are
down, the sign is hung, and I have my coat off and tie undone.

Work sucks…

I take it that your pharmacy does not have a drive-thru or do your patients not drive up to the window 10 minutes past closing?

I work in a 24 hr pharmacy, no big deal for me. Just leave for next guy on. Although, when I worked at a non 24 store, I had an MD call in an rx about 10 minutes before we closed. I stored rx on profile, so he can go pick up at 24 hour store. I called pt to inform him of such, but he wasn’t home. Go shows up right at closing time. I informed him of what I did. He said. “what would go and do a thing like that for?” Douchebag. I still made him go to 24 hour store saying the register drawers were taken away and computer was doing a “backup.” White lie, but c’mon people.

9am-9pm is a long working period indeed! 9-5 was already tiring for me, because I had to stand the whole time. Besides, prescriptions keep coming non-stop and there’s no way you could take a break.

Worse, I haven’t even graduated yet. I was only having my attachment. Hehe.

I wished people would understand that pharmacists need a rest after the long working hours.

We’re open from 10 to 7. I say that’s a fairly reasonable amount of time, given that most people get off work around 5 or 6 so they still have a couple hours to get their prescriptions. Wrong. Oh so very wrong.
Oh, and just because we have ONE person in the pharmacy who managed to get their butt there at least 10 minutes before we close, does NOT mean that you can ignore the big “CLOSED” sign and come in 10 minutes AFTER we closed. Even if our ocmputers aren’t shut off, I’m going to tell you that they are.

Ha, this happens so often I can’t stand it. If it’s an emerg. rx for something that is an emerg, I will fill it within reason, otherwise, SCREW OFF FOLKS!!!
