In Texas, we have two weeks to vote. It’s called early voting. One can go to the county annex election office any day for TWO WEEKS prior to the actual primary. Early voting in Texas begins February 19. The actual primary takes place March 5. There is even going to be WEEKEND early voting. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR NOT VOTING, but there is POSITIVELY NO EXCUSE FOR NOT VOTING IN THE STATE OF TEXAS! IT IS SO CONVENIENT THAT ONE HAS ONLY ONE’S OWN LAZY ASS TO BLAME, AND YES, I AM SHOUTING!

Any states that do not have local or amendments on the ballot? Not registered to one of the big two parties? Enjoy the extra long-I-told-the-boss-I-need-to-vote-lunch then. This is the preseason for some. We’ll be around when the superbowl starts.

We so need a Hilary/Obama ticket. This would be the ultimate dream team. Hate to choose one over the other.

I’ve heard people complaining about the dingbats in office. “Who did you vote for?” “Oh I didn’t bother, they’re all crooks anyway.” “Well, you got no right to complain then, you had the chance to influence the process and you passed it up.”

You say that “It’s your right as an American citizen”… Yes, but it’s more than just a right, it’s a responsibility as well. Check out the turnout figures for my adopted state of NJ for the last election: what was it, maybe 22%? This bothers me.

I’ve been told by Australians that in their country, voting is mandatory: you don’t show up at the polls, you get arrested. You have the choice to cast a blank ballot, but you better be there.

I’m not telling which candidate I voted for this morning before I came to work, let’s just say that I don’t much like either one, but by $DEITY I voted. Held my nose, but I pulled the lever. (OK, pushed the button, I miss those 60s era voting machines. When you pulled that huge red lever and heard the KA-CHUNK noise, you knew you’d accomplished something.)

No way. Think of all the idiots you bitch about on here every day. Take a walk outside or google “President of the United States” and you’ll see that they outnumber us by a wide margin. Any one of them can cancel out your vote in a two person race. I respect everyone’s right to vote if they know what they are voting for. But going out and voting just for the sake of voting is retarded. If you have no opinion, stay home. If you are voting for Hillary just because she’s a woman, or Obama because he’s black, or Romney or McCain because you think we need another old white man, stay home. If you have an opinion on the issues and believe one candidate is better, by all means go out and express it in the voting booth. But I believe that an uneducated vote is worse than not voting.

That’s the beauty of a democracy, fuckwad. A poor, unintelligent person’s vote is worth just as much as a rich, beautiful, intelligent person such as myself.

If my vote were worth more, this would no longer be a democracy, it’d be some sort of weird feudal system.

I don’t want to be people fucking idiots in my pharmacy. I don’t give a shit what they do in the ballot box, so long as they go and make a decision they are comfortable with. It’s their right for being born and American. Who the fuck are you to take it away from them?

If they want to vote for Obama because he’s black, whoop-tee-fucking-do. Worse things have happened. We elected the first president because he killed redcoats better than anyone else. We elected other’s for killing Germans.
