Trey,

all I can say is if you wanted, check out the Catechism. A lot of information, but worthwhile to browse.

Where did America's laws come from? Better question, why did Thomas Jefferson believe every American has the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?

Those aren't thoughts, they are silly questions.

Our country has laws, statutes, and ordinances for which to base our lives -- or rules to govern our actions. If you follow them, you are doing right in the eyes of your fellow citizens.

Heaven? Prove it.

Some sins are laws in the USA - ie murder. Break it and go to jail. Others, not so much. Not punishable by law. No immediate response, who cares?

Lot's of interesting thoughts....here's a few more for ya. If the church doesn't give guidance on how we should live then who should? Also, who decides who gets into Heaven and what are the determining factors/actions? How do you know? If you do sin, is there ANY redemption and who grants it??

Way back to the time of the Apostles, which is essentially the Catholic Church (Peter as the first Pope). If you haven't already, I'd suggest reading the catechism of the Catholic Church (a long read but worth it), this usually helps in clarifying a lot of the theology the Church teaches, which has remained constant since the time of the Apostles.
Also, fully agree with you about some pastors and priests not being true Christian. When in doubt, always look at the doctrine.
