Damn Bicycles
Posted by The *Angriest* Pharmacist as --Not Pharmacy--, Laws, Me being a dick, Stupid People, True Story
I was driving home tonight, and I came to a “T” in the road. I was turning right. A bicyclist flew across the intersection the same way I was headed. I was nowhere near hitting her, but she ran the stop sign plain and simple. I made my turn, passed her in the left passing lane, and proceeded. She ran another fucking stop sign — passing me up. I made my way past her another time and got to the light….She didn’t run the light, but I rolled down my window.
“IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE ON THE FUCKING ROAD, YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THE RULES OF THE ROAD. STOP RUNNING FUCKING STOP SIGNS YOU STUPID BITCH”
She rattled off some inane babble about “did you see that red car right in front of me? were you watching that red car???”
I think she was implying that since she was tailing a red car very closely, that the red car’s stop counted as her own. Readers, I can assure you that while, in theory, this sounds correct — she is in fact a stupid, dumb bitch and needed a good kick in the cunt…which I would had delivered had I not be on a very important mission to get home and drink beer.
Attention bicyclists! I can accept your hippie ways. I can become accustomed to your unwashed hair and your vegan lifestyle for the betterment of ‘mother earth’ — but, when you’re on my fucking roadways, you obey the laws of the road you hippie scum. I don’t give a fuck how much you are reducing your carbon imprint…or mine!
If I had hit that fat, pear-shaped slut, my ass would have been in trouble…not hers. The cops wouldn’t have said…”Ohh she ran the stop sign…have a nice day!” They would have said, “You hit a pedestrian? I’ll see you in hell, motherfucker!” Then I would have been locked up.
Stay on the sidewalk, off my roads, and off my fucking last nerve.
Next time I’m going to door-check that sperm-burping whore….
I know some states at least you can’t ride a bicycle on the sidewalks but you do have to follow all the traffic laws like a car does. I’ve seen the local cops pull people over on bicycles for running stop signs and give them tickets or citations for breaking the traffic laws. I don’t care if a cyclist wants to use the road they just can’t think that they own the road and don’t have to follow the rules. I’ve almost taken out a few because they decided to shoot across the road when traffic is moving. What also will piss me off is when they ride down the center of the road or not close enough to the edge of the road so I can pass them when they barely moving and the speed limit is 55 mph. If I could I would run some of them off the road and into a ditch or a pond, but I don’t feel like damaging my car and/or more importantly getting arrested and having my rear tossed in jail.
There are “cyclists”, and there are “people on bikes”.
There are “drivers”, and there are “people in cars”.
You never notice the cyclists or drivers, it’s only the twats that force you to take avoiding action you remember.
On the bright side, PoB are much more likely to attract the rules of Darwin, shame about the PiCs ;)
For the record, I drive ~and~ cycle, my hair is washed daily, I eat my steak blue anywhere that can cook it right, drink ale and listen to metal, and have been sorely tempted to run down a few PoBs in my time (eg the middle aged twonk using the pedestrian crossing on his bike, with full panniers, reflective gear, helmet etc. Felt like driving straight through the red light and when he asks why I ran him down, say “why should I obey the rules when you’re not just ignoring them, but actually abusing them to your convenience?” But agian, the damage to my pride and joy, not to mention the insurance paperwork…… anyhow, I seem to remember pharmacists are supposed to be careing ;)
My understanding of the law in just about all states is that bicycles are vehicles, and must follow the laws governing motor vehicles even thought they are not motorized. With all the standards we are subject to, I wouldn’t mind if bicyclists had to get driver’s licenses and also register their bicycles with the state, same as motor vehicles. With the rise of gasoline prices, I think we are going to see the rise of bicycling as a minor but growing mode of transportation, and, in larger cities, their numbers are going to be a problem on the roads to justify stricter regulation and enforcement.
I ride my bike to work every day (I live it Boston so that’s not out of the ordinary) and I hate the treatment I get from drivers who think we don’t belong on the roads. I hate even more the cyclists who blatantly disobey the law and common sense, giving the rest of us such a bad rap and making it less safe for everyone. As a result, I get honked at, yelled at, and cut off by cars all the time because the drivers are angry about the actions of a small minority of cyclists. Stereotyping/discrimination at its finest!
ps - I’m guilty of it too, because now I think all Boston drivers are assholes!
God, am I relieved to know I am not the only one who gets sooooo angry at stupidity. Some of these bikers think they belong to an elite club –much like all of Hollywood—and the regular rules dont even apparently apply to them. IDIOTS!!
HAHA! I love it! I was reading something on the onion and it it similar in a way.. superfunny!! http://www.theonion.com/content/news/new_get_the_fuck_outta_the_road?utm_source=onion_rss_daily
In my neighborhood, fucking breeders push their baby strollers in the middle of the goddamn road, and old people walk three abreast in front of cars. I was involved in a three car near accident caused by one woman and her spawn, with all the cars screeching to a halt and swerving around her. And like you say, if they get hit, no judge will blame them for not walking on the fucking sidewalks our taxes paid to put on both sides of every street in this suburban jerkwater burg.
If you think those people wandering down the middle of suburban residential streets are bad, you should go to the areas around college campuses. It can be a 45mph zone, and those kids will still walk out into the middle of the street, phones glued to their ear. I’ve seen them walk out in front of *buses*.
I lmao everytime i read your blogs. They’re so true and the way you relay your feelings on the matter is priceless. I’d love working w/you as the pharmacist. i’m a tech at the moment.
