Changes to TheAngriestPharmacist.com

Well hello there. I’m sure a few of you have noticed a few changes around the website. The biggest changes is that I removed my contact page — this allowed the reader to send a message directly to me asking whatever question they wanted — regardless of how unecessary or silly.

It’s finally gotten to the point where I can no longer respond to all of these messages, especially with any sort of timeliness, so I have removed the link. I also grew tired of continually answering the same question. It, literally, is to the point where I have many word documents saved with responses to certain questions. So, when asked, I merely copy/paste in the response, and I look like a nice guy. Honestly, how many times do I need to answer the question, “What are pharmacy admission boards looking for in a prospective student? Signed, A Future Colleague.”  –  I’m being rude in generalities here, but have the fucking courtesy to spend two seconds on my website before firing off a question to me. If you would just see to the right there’s a link to “The Angriest FAQ” with the answer right there. There’s a post dedicated to it if you google it or peruse the site. There’s also the Greatest Hits link above pointing out many things that are often the answer to questions I get.

I’m not ungrateful. I love that people are finding the site and wanting to utilize me for information regarding whatever topic related to pharmacy or pharmacotherapy. But, seriously, do you all want me, or this website to be the Ambassador of pharmacy to anyone? Much less prospective students?

I’m also slowing down my post rate for now. I’m not going defunct, and I’m not going to shut down the site. I’m just scaling back to a reasonable level. For many months, I put in 4+ posts per week. For now, I’m going to shoot for one post every other week. If I don’t make that level, I’m not going to fret about it. I have 295 posts that can keep people busy — and I’d seriously doubt there are too many people out there that have read all of them. If you want to be notified when I *d0* make a new post, subscribe using the text blank in the right frame. It’s been there for ages, and it will email you when I submit new awesomeness to the internet.

So, why the change? I’ve got a huge change in my life right now. Not related to job or relationship or anything like that. I’ve just taken a much larger role in another venue that is going to monopolize my time outside of work and family. It’s important to me that that aspect succeed in the long term, and quite frankly this site is nothing more than a way for me to be someone who I’m really not. It’s a way for me to try and make people laugh by seeing how outrageous I can be. It’s me pushing the envelope, being mean to those that don’t agree with me, and doing things that are questionable if not wrong to make them feel bad or get a laugh at there expense. Am I sorry for any of that? Heck no. It’s hilarious….but it’s not a priority anymore.

For the final change, I’m going to turn off comment moderation. I’m going to see if people can be nice and moderate themselves and what comes out of their mouth. I’m fine-tuning some plugins to help block comments with keywords in them and ban anyone posting multiple multiple multiple swears. Hopefully, this will free up even more time of mine and keep me away from the site (other than to post) and help me resist the temptation to respond to every comment.
